About Us

The Young Patriot Challenge (YPC) is a local group of Merced County volunteers that have organized for two specific purposes:
  • To assist our public and home school teachers in meeting the federal mandate of Constitution Day instruction.
  •  To make learning about the Constitution and our government challenging and fun.

Who We Are Not

The YPC is not affiliated with any state or national political party or organization and has no agenda other than promoting the teaching of the U.S. Constitution to our youth.  The material presented to our instructors is part of a curriculum that has been designed specifically for meeting the federal mandate.

Membership

If you would like to join the YPC Committee or if you have questions about the program and would like to speak to a committee member, call:
Barbara Riis-Christensen (Chairperson) 358-8404.

YPC Committee members have no contact with the students until the actual reception ceremony, to be held on October 20, 2021.  YPC members are responsible for assisting in obtaining sponsorship, decorating the awards ceremony hall, judging the contest entries and of course, cleaning up after the event.
